Our Trash to Treasure event this Saturday, May 15, was a very successful event. The weather was perfect, we had lots of vendors and lots of shoppers.

History will be made in the City of Poplarville this year. A woman will be elected as Mayor for the first time in our town’s history! All three candidates are Republican women: Louise Smith, Linda Hawkins and Heather Holliday. Best of luck to these women.

Mississippi's State Health Officer, Dr. Thomas Dobbs, has issued a Thanksgiving warning.
"We're going to be mixing young folks with middle-age folks and older folks who they love — and it's a really dangerous time to spread the coronavirus," Dobbs said. Hospitals in Mississippi are already struggling. Please be safe and stay home to avoid large gatherings.

Have a Happy Halloween! Trick or Treating is allowed in the city on Saturday, October 31, 2020! Many of the stores on Main Street will also be passing out candy on Friday and Saturday. Just stay safe, keep your distance and wear masks. (Halloween masks are not COVID-19 masks)

The Chamber of Commerce Pumpkin Patch event on Oct. 16 & 17, 2020 was a huge success. The kids loved painting pumpkins. 10/01/2020 The statewide mask mandate by the governor has ended but please be aware that COVID-19 cases are still being recorded daily. Please continue to protect yourself and others by continuing to wear a face covering. You shouldn't have to be forced to do it.
This year the Margaret Reed Crosby Memorial Library and the Poplarville Public Library will team up to share videos of our team members reading stories each week, and weekly craft videos created by our own Ms. Susie, who made all of our wonderful craft videos over the summer.

The Chamber will be having Movies on Main the night before the Blueberry Jubilee! It will be on the Town Green at 7:30 pm on June 11, 2021. We will be showing "The Emperors New Groove". There will be snacks and drinks available.

Trash to Treasure downtown flea market will be held on May 15, 2021, from 7:30 - 1:30. This is shaping up to be one of our largest markets, with 3 blocks of downtown Poplarville lining up vendors on both sides. Please be aware that the location for the Easter Egg Hunt of April 3, 2021, has been changed to Poplarville City Park due to construction on the Town Green. More space, more fun. There will be games, prizes and other activities for the kids from 10:30 - 1:00 and the Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 1:00.
We will have our Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 3, 2021 at the City Park from 10:30 - 1:30. This year we are adding a 5K and kids Fun Run at 8:00 am. Details on how to participate will be coming soon. Contact the Chamber Office to find out how you can help us with this event!

We will be having our annual Christmas on Main on December 12, 2020. Stores will stay open until 8:00 pm for late shopping. Along with this event there will be a Christmas Market on the Town Green with vendors selling crafts and gifts for Christmas from 9:00am - 8:00 pm. Pictures with Santa will be from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Join us for a great time and some great Christmas deals.

and will will send you a vendor application. 10' x 10' spaces are $15.00 and the deadline for applications and payments is December 7, 2020.
Poplarville will be having our yearly Christmas Parade on December 4, 2020 at 5:00 PM. If you would like to participate in this, please pick up a registration form at the Chamber of Commerce office or at Radio Shack. Lets make this our biggest and best parade so far!

October 16, 17, 2020 Pumpkin Patch on the Town Green begins at 3:00 - 7:00 on Friday, and 8:00 - 1:00
on Saturday. The cost is $10:00 per child to go into the pumpkin patch and pick their pumpkin. The will
receive a bag of candy and can then go and paint their pumpkin to enter into the Pumpkin Decorating Contest. Winner will be announce at 11:00 Saturday. There will be a costume contest on Saturday at 11:00.

The new DOLLAR TREE in Poplarville will be holding a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting this Saturday, October 3, 2020, at 10:00 am. Come celebrate with them and hear some live entertainmemt.
FALL DECORATING CONTEST: Entries will be due October 12, 2020! Decorate your store windows or your yard for fall or Halloween. The community will vote on the winners this year and there will be a nice gift basket worth at least $30.00 for the winner. The Chamber has lost a lot of our revenue, due to all our fundraising events being cancelled due to Covid-19, so this year we are asking for a $10 entry fee to help with this loss. The Blueberry Jubilee that was rescheduled for October 3, 2020, has now been cancelled due to COVID-19 concerns and crowd limits. It will be back in June 2021!
September 8, 2020 is our Monthly Chamber Meeting on Zoom at 5:30 pm. Board Members only are invited to attend in person at the Chamber of Commerce office. This is to comply with COVID-19 guidlines on limited numbers for all gatherings.
