Poplarville Chamber Receives Grant from Coast Electric’s Operation Round Up
Poplarville, MS - 05/20/2024 – The Poplarville Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that it has received a generous grant from Coast Electric’s Operation Round Up program. This grant will fund several key community enhancement projects, including the installation of a new welcome sign, color-changing LED lights on Main Street, and permanent picnic tables on the Town Green.
New Welcome Sign
A new welcome sign now greets visitors to Poplarville, showcasing the town's charm and hospitality. This sign has been installed on Highway 26, directly across from Love’s Travel Stop, serving as a warm invitation to all who pass through. Proudly, Poplarville's own Nikki Main was commissioned to paint this sign, adding a personal touch from a local artist. The Chamber is excited about this beautiful addition, which enhances the welcoming atmosphere of our community.
Lighting Up Main Street
In an effort to beautify Poplarville’s downtown area, color-changing LED lights will be installed along Main Street, across from the Town Green. These lights can change colors to mark special events and holidays, such as turning blue for the Blueberry Jubilee, orange for Booberry, and festive colors for Christmas. This project aims to enhance the downtown experience for both residents and visitors, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
Permanent Picnic Tables on the Town Green
By the time of the Blueberry Jubilee, the Town Green will feature new permanent picnic tables, providing a comfortable and convenient spot for community members and visitors to gather, relax, and enjoy the beautiful outdoor space. This addition will support the town’s various events and festivals, making the Town Green an even more inviting place for socializing and community activities.
